Since 2012 we are licensees of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings and are authorized to certify events as such.
 
Organizing environmentally friendly conferences in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel is easier than you might think, and it doesn’t have to be more expensive. It just requires a little creativity and a return to basics—such as using regional products for catering.
 
In keeping with the motto “Do good and talk about it,” certification requires two things: meeting certain criteria and informing all stakeholders that the planned event is to be certified as a Green Meeting.
 
In order to meet these criteria, it is easiest to cooperate certified businesses. The steps towards the certification are the following:
 

Important steps to your Green Meeting

 

  • Location: You can find an overview of all certified event locations here.

 

  • Accommodation: In Austria, there is a variety of certified Hotels and B&Bs. You can find a list of those businesses here.

 

  • Mobility: Trust in locations that are easily accessible via public transport and motivate the participants to choose public transport.

 

  • Material and waste management: Always keep the waste in mind and think about regional Give-Aways. Try to be as resource-saving as possible and pay attention to recycling and waste separation.

 

  • Exhibition Booths: The keyword is waste avoidance! No single-use plastic and wrapping when it comes to catering. Also, create booths that can be reused at another event.

 

  • Catering: All certified caterers and restaurant businesses can be found here.

 

  • Social Aspects: Don’t forget about security and think about groups with certain handicaps.
